Holistic Treatment – The Trance State
It is known that no single treatment works for all clients/people with mental health conditions. Something worth noting is that it is useful if a few different interventions are used to ensure holistic treatment is complete. People get frustrated and blame therapists and themselves for treatments not working, when the reasons for treatment not being so positive are vast.
As individuals we need to look at our whole lives and everything in it to ascertain what we can do to change ourselves. The main cause of negativity in our mind comes from our environment and the relationships with in it. One session of hypnotherapy or any other therapy can not change that, which is why it is useful to use a few avenues of therapy to get the most out of it.
Hypnotherapy can really help with change. Using a trance state we can begin to release the unconscious mind that allows change in other areas of our lives, encompassing environmental changes and relationship changes. As you begin to find your own thoughts and discover your true power your independence can start to manifest, allowing you to reduce negative thoughts and the associated feelings. With the help of the hypnotherapist, trance is just the beginning.

Please Dont Give Up…
When other treatments have failed in your view it is really important to not give up. Many people end up in this cycle of boom and bust when things don’t quite work as ‘expected‘. The process of helping Anxiety for example is lengthy. You have been practicing being anxious for a while, in most cases, a long time so unravelling your unconscious mind can take time. Hypnotherapy can really work for anxiety if you are also using an holistic approach (exercising, healthy eating, maintaining good clear boundaries with self and others – to name a few).

“”The idea behind hypnosis is that the subconscious mind can be opened if a person is able to find themselves in the right mental state. For hypnosis to work, the hypnotist must first put his or her client into what is called a “trance state.” This is a state of mental and physical relaxation in which the conscious mind is encouraged to rest, while the subconscious mind is kept alert.”” (Holisticmind.com 2021)

Treating Anxiety with Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis encourages relaxation so that the ‘unconscious’ mind comes alive. Your conscious mind is turned off and so we begin to speak to your ‘automatic self’. Your automatic self is the part where we begin treatment. The unconscious mind is the place where we think, behave and act out in ways that we believe are the ‘right ways’, when in fact, they are probably part of the problem. During hypnotherapy you will be guided through rooms in the mind towards finding ‘safe’ places to rest, places that you know in real life that can be harnessed by the ethereal unconscious, which then in turn relays back into ‘real life’. These spaces are for you to use at anytime throughout your life. By creating these safe rooms/environments it is possible to overcome anxiety, especially if you’re creating and building good boundaries with in the context to your wider environment and relationships.
Imagine just for a moment… You have found a cave, you create a fire, and you bring all of the things that mean “safe” in to the cave with you, and all of the people that also are considered ‘safe’… imagine this room is yours, imagine this environment is yours to go to whenever you like. This would be considered a ‘safe space’ for you. Allowing you a form of control over your thoughts, leading to control over your feelings. The reason for this is that for those who suffer with anxiety their negative/faulty thoughts are part of the problem… one negative thought leads to more negative/faulty thoughts. By creating a ‘safe space’ for the mind to go to it can create change in the way we experience ourselves in the present, rather than allowing our thoughts to run fantastically wild.
Hypnotherapy is considered to recondition the mind, allowing you the possibility of change, and thus anxiety free.
