Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Creating therapeutic solutions for your mind

Life isn’t something you can give an answer to today. You could enjoy the process of becoming what you are.

My aim is to help you through issues that are impacting your life. By using a mixture of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy we can work to overcome any personal, work or relational challenges you are facing.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution focused hypnotherapy (SFH) is a form of hypnotherapy that focuses on moving you forward in your life with a distinct approach to the treatment of psychological issues. SFH creates change by combing hypnosis with modern psychotherapeutic principles.

The important structure of solution focused hypnotherapy is accepting the past is the past, thus focusing on finding solutions rather than looking back at the problematic issues that are linked to today’s condition. This means in practice, we assess your present issues and discuss your desires for your future instead of looking back into your yesterday’s.

This dynamic approach makes solution focused hypnotherapy different compared to other types of hypnotherapy, thus results are more rapid. In addition, it’s very systematic, well-structured and practical. This system therefore allows clients the ability to tap into their own inner potential to achieve solutions in the future.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy has been around for thousands of years in various formats.  Techniques have developed and the reasons for having and giving Hypnotherapy over the years.   In today’s current climate the need for therapy of all descriptions have increased.  Today’s modern world accepts the fact that people need assistance with their mental health and it is no longer frowned upon, seen as a weakness, or as a reason someone should be isolated in hospital or institution.

Hypnosis comes from the Greek word “ypons” which means sleep. This although was an originating word, this is not a correct term.  As people under Hypnosis are not asleep, but in a trance state, meaning the subject is alert in the subconscious area of the mind.

Hypnosis History

Hypnosis’ history is full of contradictions; one theory is that the history of Hypnosis is like breathing, an inherent universal trait, experienced by all since the dawn of time. Others think that Hypnosis hasn’t changed in history but our understanding, performance, control and applications has profoundly changed. All this equaling that it is our perception that has changed.

This is not stage hypnosis, where we say “Sleep” and you drop your head, fast asleep.  You, I promise, will not leave here clucking like a chicken, or barking like a dog.

Adding CBT...

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based and widely used form of psychotherapy that’s helped many people around the world. Using this combined with Hypnotherapy can be a powerful combination…

I use cognitive behavioural therapy to help people with mental and physical health challenges like:

Depression

Anxiety

Trauma

Chronic pain

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

The goal of Hypnotherapy & CBT is to help you adapt and change your mindset and behaviours by reassessing distorted thought patterns.

Whether you’re living with a mental health condition or just keep finding yourself worrying about the little things, CBT could be a helpful tool if you’re looking for an evidence-backed therapy to relieve persistent mental health symptoms.
